Privacy Policy
Jadwily is an iOS application operated from Kuwait that helps university students organise and manage their academic semester. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Jadwily collects, how we use it, who may receive it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.
Jadwily is a global application. Although our headquarters and business operations are based in Kuwait, the application may be used by students in countries around the world. Different privacy laws may apply depending on where you live.
1. Who We Are
Jadwily is operated by:
KODA SWIFT FOR DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING CUSTOM SOFTWARE
Alshuhada Street, Maryam Tower
Kuwait City, Kuwait
For privacy questions, data requests, complaints, or other privacy related matters:
Email: info@jadwily.com
For purposes of applicable data protection laws, KODA SWIFT FOR DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING CUSTOM SOFTWARE is responsible for the personal information processed through Jadwily, subject to applicable law.
2. Our Representative in the European Union
Jadwily is intended to be available globally. We do not currently have an appointed representative in the European Union.
If an EU representative is required under applicable law, we will appoint and identify the appropriate representative and update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated when you use Jadwily, and information necessary for the application to operate.
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- University
- Country
- Degree type
- Year of study
- Major
- Preferred daily summary time
- Goals selected during onboarding
You may sign in using Apple, Google, or an email sign in code. If you use Apple or Google, the relevant provider may provide us with information such as your account identifier, email address, and name.
We do not ask you to provide your date of birth, and your year of study is not treated as your age.
Semester and academic information
When you use Jadwily to organise your semester, you may provide:
- Semester name and dates
- Courses and course codes
- Professor names
- Class schedules
- Class locations, rooms, or buildings
- Deadlines, titles, dates and times
- Study sessions and notes
- Grades and scores you choose to record
- Coursework or tasks that have not yet received a date
- Notification settings
- Reminder preferences
- Other academic information you choose to enter into the application
This information is used to provide the core Jadwily service, including organisation, scheduling, reminders, summaries, and the assistant.
Files and documents
You may upload course materials such as syllabi and other supported documents.
Depending on the file, we may store:
- The original file
- The original filename
- Text extracted from the document
- A structured summary or other information identified from the document
Uploaded documents may contain personal information about you or other people, including professor names, university information, contact information, course policies, grades, or other information contained in the document.
You should only upload files that you are permitted to use and that you are comfortable having processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
4. Information Processed by the Jadwily Assistant
Jadwily includes an AI powered assistant designed to help you organise your academic life.
To provide the assistant, we may process information necessary for the assistant to respond to your request. Depending on the request and the courses or semester information in scope, this may include:
- Courses and course codes
- Professor names
- Current semester information
- Deadlines
- Class meetings and locations
- Study sessions
- Estimated grades calculated from information you entered
- Undated coursework or waiting items
- Relevant text from files associated with the courses in scope
- Recent messages in the assistant conversation
- Your local time
- The message you send to the assistant
The assistant does not need your name, email address, account identifier, country, major, degree type, or year of study to answer your requests, and these fields are not intentionally included in the assistant context.
AI generated information can be wrong
The assistant is an organisational tool and is not an authoritative academic record.
It may misunderstand your message, misread a syllabus, incorrectly interpret a date, miss information, associate information with the wrong course, or otherwise provide an inaccurate response.
Jadwily is designed so that assistant generated changes are presented to you for confirmation before they are saved. You are responsible for reviewing important information before relying on it.
5. Processing of Uploaded Documents by Third Party AI Services
When Jadwily processes an uploaded document using its AI document processing functionality, the document may be transmitted in full to our third party AI service provider, together with information such as the filename.
This means the third party may receive the complete contents of the uploaded document rather than only selected portions.
Please do not upload documents containing information that you do not want processed by the applicable third party service.
The third party provider operates under its own privacy policy, terms, security practices, retention rules, and other applicable policies. By using the relevant Jadwily functionality and submitting information for processing, you acknowledge that processing by the applicable third party is necessary for that functionality and is subject to the provider's applicable terms and policies.
6. Information We Collect When You Use the App
We may collect operational and usage information such as:
- The time you last opened the application
- Records of days on which you used the application
- Application version
- iOS version
- Device model
- Session identifiers
- Usage events
- Processing and usage counts used to operate the service, enforce free usage limits, prevent abuse, and manage system costs
Our product analytics are designed not to contain the free text you enter into Jadwily. Analytics events do not intentionally contain your messages, course names, deadline titles, filenames, or other free text entered into the application.
Crash and error diagnostics
Jadwily uses a crash reporting service so that we can find out when the application crashes or runs into an error. When that happens, a diagnostic report may be sent from your device. A report may include:
- The error message and the technical stack trace
- Application version and build number
- iOS version and device model
- Your account identifier, when you are signed in
- Which version of the app was running
- A short trail of recent activity leading up to the error
Jadwily does not currently use over the air updates.
The trail of recent activity records the names of usage events, the network requests the application made, including the address, the method, and the response status code, and technical messages produced by the application. It is not designed to include the contents of a request or a response.
The application also reports a session record when it is opened and when it is closed. These records are used to measure how often the application crashes across the people using it. A session record carries the application version, the iOS version, the device model, and whether the session ended in a crash.
Crash diagnostics are designed not to contain the free text you enter into Jadwily. Error messages and the activity trail are filtered on your device before they are sent, to remove quoted text, which is where information you typed is most likely to appear. Screenshots, screen recordings, and the on screen layout of the application are not collected, and failed network responses are not turned into error reports. Filtering of this kind is a reasonable precaution rather than a guarantee, and a diagnostic report may still contain information you entered.
7. Information Submitted Through Support
If you use the in app "Report an issue" feature, we may receive:
- Your report, which may contain up to 4,000 characters
- Your account email address
- Your application version
- Your iOS version
- Your device model
If you use "Contact support", your email application may open with technical diagnostic information such as your application version, iOS version, and device model. Your email address is supplied by your own email application.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive or confidential information in support requests.
8. Sign In Email Checks
When you enter an email address on the sign in screen, Jadwily may check whether an account already exists so that we can provide the appropriate sign in experience.
For this purpose, we may temporarily record:
- Your IP address
- A one way cryptographic hash of the email address entered
The email address itself is not stored in this temporary record.
These records are retained for approximately 48 hours and then automatically deleted.
9. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Jadwily does not intentionally collect:
- Precise location information
- Your contacts
- Advertising identifiers
- Device fingerprinting information
- Push notification tokens
Jadwily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. The application does not require a remote push notification token for its normal reminder functionality.
The Jadwily website does not use cookies or analytics for ordinary website operation as described by our current implementation.
10. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Provide Jadwily's academic organisation features
- Store and organise your semester information
- Process uploaded documents
- Provide the AI assistant
- Generate and manage reminders and summaries
- Respond to support requests
- Prevent abuse and protect the service
- Enforce usage limits
- Understand how the application is used
- Detect, investigate, and fix crashes and errors
- Improve the application
- Send important service and product announcements
- Maintain security
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your personal information for third party advertising.
11. Legal Bases for Processing
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, the legal basis for processing depends on the purpose.
Where appropriate, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract: to create and operate your account, provide semester organisation, process files, provide the assistant, and provide reminders and other requested features.
- Legitimate interests: to protect the service, prevent abuse, enforce reasonable usage limits, provide support, understand product usage, diagnose crashes and errors, improve the application, and maintain service security, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law or demonstrate compliance.
- Consent: where applicable law requires consent for a particular processing activity.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may have a right to object depending on your circumstances and applicable law.
12. Third Party Services and Providers
Jadwily relies on third party providers to operate certain parts of the application.
These may include:
Supabase
Supabase provides database, authentication, storage, and related infrastructure services used by Jadwily.
OpenAI
OpenAI provides AI functionality used by the Jadwily assistant and document processing features.
Information sent to OpenAI may include the contents of uploaded documents, filenames, messages, and academic context necessary for the requested AI functionality, as described in this Privacy Policy.
Resend
Resend is used to deliver email communications such as sign in links or codes.
Apple
Apple provides services associated with Sign in with Apple and App Store distribution and payment processing where applicable.
Google provides Sign in with Google when you choose that authentication method.
RevenueCat
RevenueCat may be used to manage subscriptions and subscription status if and when paid subscriptions are enabled.
Vercel
Vercel is used for certain web hosting and internal administrative infrastructure.
Sentry
Sentry provides the crash and error reporting used to detect and diagnose problems in the application. The information sent to Sentry is described in section 6. Jadwily's Sentry data is held in Sentry's European data region, in Germany.
Third party providers operate independently under their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and retention policies. We are responsible for the processing that is within our control, but we cannot control the independent policies, systems, security practices, retention periods, or lawful processing decisions of third parties.
By creating an account and using Jadwily, you acknowledge that certain functionality depends on third party services and that information may be processed by those providers as necessary to provide the functionality you use.
Where applicable, you should review the relevant third party's terms and privacy policy before using the associated functionality.
13. International Data Transfers and Storage
Jadwily is headquartered and operated from Kuwait, but it is a global application and does not limit its users to Kuwait.
Our infrastructure and service providers may process or store personal information outside the country in which you live.
Jadwily uses cloud infrastructure provided through Supabase and AWS. Your account, your semester information, and your uploaded files are held in data centres outside Kuwait, in the Frankfurt region of Germany.
Crash and error diagnostics are held by Sentry in its European data region, in Germany. Other providers named in this Privacy Policy operate their own infrastructure and may process information in other countries under their own arrangements.
Because Jadwily is a global service, your information may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than your own.
The privacy and data protection laws of those countries may differ from the laws of your country.
Where applicable law requires us to use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, we will implement the safeguards required by that law.
14. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
Current retention periods include:
- Assistant conversations: approximately 7 days
- Assistant action records: for as long as your account exists
- Account and semester information: until account deletion, subject to lawful retention requirements
- Uploaded files and associated extracted information: until account deletion, subject to lawful retention requirements
- Sign in email checks: approximately 48 hours
- Issue reports: for as long as your account exists, unless a longer period is required for a legitimate legal or security purpose
- Product analytics: until account deletion. We do not currently operate a separate time based deletion schedule for these records
- Crash and error diagnostics, including session records, held by our crash reporting provider: approximately 30 days
- Backups: until the relevant backup is naturally replaced or expires
- Third party records: according to the applicable third party's retention policies
Retention periods may vary where required by law, security needs, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or other legitimate purposes.
15. Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your Jadwily account from within the application.
When an account is deleted, we generally remove account and user associated information from our active systems, including your profile, semester information, courses, deadlines, study sessions, class meetings, grades, goals, notification settings, uploaded files, assistant conversations, assistant action records, product analytics records associated with your account, and other account associated records, subject to information that must or may lawfully be retained.
Some information may remain temporarily or independently of our active systems, including:
- Routine backups until they expire
- Stored copies of files whose associated record was removed before account deletion, where our systems can no longer identify those copies for removal
- Information already transmitted to third party providers and retained under their applicable policies
- Email delivery records maintained by email providers
- Records that we are legally required to retain
- Information retained for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal purposes where permitted by law
Deleting your Jadwily account does not automatically delete information held by independent third party providers. Where appropriate and within our capabilities, we may request deletion from relevant providers.
Local information may also remain on your device after account deletion until removed through the relevant device or application storage mechanisms.
16. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
These may include the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Request restriction of certain processing
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests

- Request information about how your personal information is processed
- Make a complaint to a relevant data protection authority
You may submit privacy requests by contacting:
We will review and respond to requests within the period required by applicable law.
At this time, Jadwily does not provide an automated data export function. If a portability right applies to you, we will handle the request according to applicable law and the mechanisms reasonably available to us.
17. Children and Minimum Age
Jadwily is designed for university students.
Users between 13 and 17 years old must have the permission and consent of a parent or legal guardian before creating or using a Jadwily account.
By creating an account, a user represents that they meet the applicable minimum age requirement and, where they are between 13 and 17, that they have obtained the required parental or guardian consent.
Parents or legal guardians who have questions about a minor's use of Jadwily may contact us at info@jadwily.com.
We do not intentionally collect a user's date of birth for ordinary account creation.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information.
These include measures such as:
- Private storage for uploaded files
- Access controls restricting users to their own account data
- Row level security controls within our database

We may provide service announcements inside the application, including information about maintenance, important changes, new features, or other information relating to Jadwily.
Some announcements may be shown to particular groups of users based on information such as country, university, or account timing.
These announcements are service communications and are not intended to be third party advertising.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date. Where a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the application or another appropriate communication method.
We maintain records of the version of our legal documents that you accepted and the date on which you accepted them.
Your continued use of Jadwily after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective may constitute acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
